Saint Mary’s University (SMU) demonstrates a comprehensive and institutionalized dedication to the principles of Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, integrating this objective across its academic mission, services, and community engagement.
Academically, the University plays a significant role in improving regional health outcomes by fulfilling its mandate to produce professionals in health disciplines through the School of Health and Natural Science. This contribution ensures necessary human capital is available to address health challenges within its sphere of influence.
Institutionally, SMU sustains a culture of well-being through multifaceted initiatives. It actively engages in collaborations with various health institutions—local, national, and global—to enhance health and well-being outcomes through clinical exposure, research, and specialized training opportunities. Furthermore, the University delivers consistent outreach programs in the local community, promoting health, hygiene, nutrition, and general well-being to underserved populations particularly in its partner communities.
